Most attractive and finely proportioned early 19th Century figured mahogany cased dwarf Wheel Barometer; with ‘swan-neck pediment over finely patinated case, inset with well engraved silvered brass detachable hygrometer, bow-fronted Fahrenheit thermometer, unusual 6-inch diameter barometer dial with cast-brass bezel, secured by threaded rods, and signed spirit level. Davis was an accomplished instrument maker in his own right, though best known as father of John Davis Jnr. the renowned Derby based Instrument-maker.
