Impressive and exceptionally unusual inlaid Georgian mahogany Stick Barometer c1790. The rare circular, engraved silvered brass dial [6 inches / 15.5 cm diameter], signed by the maker and bearing alcohol Fahrenheit thermometer, with manually adjustable vernier slide, and protected by glazed door with wooden bezel. The trunk, of figured mahogany, chequer strung and inset with oval floral patera, concealing barometer syphon tube which terminates within turned cistern cover.
