[SOLD] Gabriel Davis - Leeds. 19th Century mahogany Wheel Barometer. 
Most attractive, finely proportioned and unusual, early 19th Century, mahogany-cased dwarf Wheel Barometer; with ‘swan-neck pediment over case, of well figured Cuban mahogany, inset with delicately engraved silvered brass detachable hygrometer, bow-fronted Fahrenheit mercury thermometer, 6-inch diameter barometer dial protected by glazed cast brass bezel with threaded rod fixings, and signed spirit level. Davis was a highly accomplished instrument maker who worked from premises in Boar Lane, Leeds from 1822-4. He was regularly commissioned to make a wide range of instruments for the Yorkshire gentry.
